Go. Read. Glenn Greenwald. Now.

Wow.

This is one of the most fearless and scathing indictments of the village mentality in Washington DC that most of us will ever read.

I mean, holy shit. This will blow you away.

Let's all play mock the moron!

Hoo boy…The KC Star sure does put some delusional fuckwits out there for everyone to mock and ridicule. Usually I just skip that page of the paper – I need no further proof that I’m surrounded by idiots, and the usual suspects on the LtE page are, for the most part, an affront to idiots, morons, cretins, jackasses and retards everywhere. But when I slip up and read them, I can always find a perfect specimen of pure, distilled dipshittery. Monday’s moron is from Mission, and her name is Liz Dunn. Let’s not just give her letter a read, let’s deconstruct it and humiliate her in front of the class, shall we?

Why is it so important that we win in Iraq? If we pull out of Iraq, abandoning the plan for Democracy, the terrorists (al Qaeda) could get a foothold and take over the government, similar to the Taliban in Afganistan.

BZZZTTTT!!! Wrong, wronger, wrongest! The wrongest answer anyone in the history of humankind has ever given, to any question, and it truly belies her pure unadulterated ignorance, coupled with the stupidity that prompts her to blather on about things of which she has zero understanding. Liz, you frothing twit, al Qaeda is a radical Sunni group, and the country of Iraq is 70% Shi’ite. We pull out of Iraq, there will be no al Qaeda left in that country 30 days later. They will either flee for their lives or be slaughtered.

If this should occur, Iraq would join Iran and Syria in supporting terrorist activities, causing the Middle East to become very unstable.

First, our intellectually challenged punching bag makes an assertion that claims facts not in evidence, and besides that, the war in Iraq has done so very much to make the region stable…[/sarcasm]. Get this through your thick head right now…The Shi’ite-dominated government of Iraq is going to have an alliance with Shi’ite Iran, and there is not a bloody thing the United States can do about it. Not since we overthrew the guy who could prevent it and saw to it he was hung by the neck until dead. The foreign fighters who are killing American and coalition forces in Iraq are not Iranians, they are predominantly Saudi Arabian. Saudi Arabia is already a huge supporter of state terrorism, and glossing over that tells me all I need to know about Liz Dunce. She is either willfully ignorant, or she is as stupid as a box of rocks. In either case, her argument has more holes than a lace doily and her “analysis” isn’t worth a bucket of warm piss.

If these three countries formed an alliance, they may possibly take action against the other countries in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Jordan. Israel, of course, would be in grave danger.

Liz, that Kool-aid you gulped so readily – was it Raspberry Red, or Boo-Berry Blue? Iran has not invaded another country since the 1800’s. And sweetie, Israel can take care of her damned self. But don’t take my word for it – not when Efraim Helevy, former Mossad spy chief is saying the same damned thing. “I believe Israel is indestructible,” and even if they did obtain nuclear weapons “they are deterable.” He isn’t too impressed with Ahmadinejad’s rhetoric, either, since in reality, Iran’s ability to make good the threats he bandies about is minimal, and that’s a generous assessment. The Mullahs are not suicidal, they perceive perpetuation of the regime as a holy obligation, and they are not foolish enough to risk that.

If al Qaeda were in charge of these Middle Eastern countries, then much of the worlds oil supply would be under their control, causing an economic disaster.

The stupid…it…burns…sometimes…al Qaeda is about 15,000 radicals (up drastically since aWol attacked Iraq, but I digress, as is my wont) with no real power structure. Wonder if she, or anyone else for that fact, can explain how they’re gonna herd those cats and take over all the Middle Eastern oilfields? (Now try that explanation without application of magical thinking and inserting “a miracle happens somewhere around about here” in the middle of your explanation. Not so easy with that qualifier in place, is it?)

With money and power, terrorists would become bolder in their activities around the world, including attacking the United States.

How do you figure, Liz? Can you back that up, or are you just a parrot for the war profiteering industry?

Those who think we should pull out of Iraq and that the terrorists will leave our country alone are naïve. al-Qaeda is determined to destroy the United States, Israel and other countries that will not do their will.

Those who think that we should stay in Iraq forever, “fightin’ ‘em there so we don’t have to fight ‘em here” are too fucking stupid to get out of bed without a helmet, and likely need a court-appointed guardian for all decisions more complicated than selecting their socks.

Liz and her ilk are bound and determined to lose the war on terror for us. Terrorists win when they succeed in terrifying, and I suspect that Liz is one terrified, quivering mass of willful ignorance, warmongering propaganda and specious ideology, with a permanently-purple upper lip. What a sad, pathetic existence to be flush in both stupidity and fearfulness, and enslaved to both of those cruel masters.

Does anyone with at least one functioning neural synapse really believe that a few thousand radicals could actually subdue the people of this country? (Without the help of people like Liz and the other foam-flecked, fearmongering fuckwits, that is.) We are fiercely independent, we are heavily armed and we are the orneriest, most obstreperous people on the face of the planet. Good luck getting me in a Burka or any member of my family to submit to Sharia law. Not gonna happen. But we aren’t prone to pissin’ down our legs in fear. We are cut from the “I’ll die on my feet before I live one minute on my knees” cloth – you know, like real, authentic, sprang from revolutionary stock, Patriotic Americans.

What Great Patriots They Be

A cryptic photo, sent from parts unknown, purporting to be from The Blue Girl...
A reminder for folks on this observance of Veteran's Day:

Grover Norquist Says Something Stupid Again

Get to know Grover Norquist. Look him up. Study his every move. He is the enemy of America. He is everything that is wrong with this country.

Here's his latest ridiculous brain fart:

“It will be ridiculous to have Mr President and Madam President in the White House,” he [Grover Norquist] said. “We’re the United States of America. How can we say to President Mubarak [of Egypt], ‘You can’t hand off the presidency to your son, it’s got to be your wife’ or, ‘Hey Syria and North Korea, you've got to knock this stuff off and be like us’.”

Norquist has commissioned lawyers to draw up a constitutional amendment that would ban family members from succeeding one another to elected and appointed office. If passed, it would not apply to the Clintons as a Bush was elected in between them. But Norquist believes that it will alert voters to the perils of dynasty. “Americans don’t like to go back,” he said.

Reaganism was forward-looking. Hillary is running a reprise of her husband’s campaign. The advantage for the Republicans is that Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney are new.”

A ban to keep them from succeeding one another? There already is a rule about nepotism. Perhaps the Republican Party forgot about it? I mean, we see clear-cut examples of Republican nepotism every day. Is Norquist trying to get religion and remind us about all the links to government incompetence and corruption that runs through the extended Bush and Cheney families? Did he shove his head so far up his own ass that he forgot the so-called Bobby Kennedy rule about cabinet members?

Norquist seems to think it would be wise to crap all over one of our few allies in the Middle East, and I wonder how that would turn out for us. Just when you think they couldn't be any stupider, an influential conservative thinker questions the legitimacy of the leadership of Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Thanks, Grover. We've got enough on our plates now. Oh, and Grover? They don't have a monarchy in Iran, so you're a big supporter of their form of democracy, aren't you?

Romney is new? Hardly. Romney's dad, who was a governor and a HUD secretary, might have something to say about that.

Getting back to what Robert Wuhl talked about, you know George W Bush is a descendant of President Franklin Pierce, right? One of the worse Presidents of the 19th Century is an ancestor of the worse President ever. Why not ban anyone related to Bush from ever serving again? I see a pattern here, and it has cost this country dearly. I mean, you can't always expect the Roosevelt and Adams families to at least have decent offspring.

Had a look at Pierce Bush lately? I can't do HTML to save my life, but have a gander at the next Bush dynasty in action. And, no--he didn't sleep with those girls. They're in it for the free beer. Sometimes you have to put up with a creepy rich kid just to get a little down time between classes, don't you, ladies? http://wonkette.com/politics/pierce-bush/pierce-bush-and-facebook-need-we-say-more-182289.php

And I wonder what Jeb Bush--the only one in the Bush family with any brains or talent--thinks about Norquist and his little pet project to gain attention for himself.

Anyway, something hilarious from the article:

Bonnie Merckley, 21, said: “I thought Bill Clinton was a great president, but when people remember his presidency, they remember the scandals.”

No, dingbat. We remember the peace and prosperity.

Excuse Me? No, We Do NOT Need to Do That

I'm sorry--did you say that we need to CHANGE the definition of privacy?

WASHINGTON — As Congress debates new rules for government eavesdropping, a top intelligence official says it is time that people in the United States changed their definition of privacy.

Privacy no longer can mean anonymity, says Donald Kerr, the principal deputy director of national intelligence. Instead, it should mean that government and businesses properly safeguard people's private communications and financial information.

Kerr's comments come as Congress is taking a second look at the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Lawmakers hastily changed the 1978 law last summer to allow the government to eavesdrop inside the United States without court permission, so long as one end of the conversation was reasonably believed to be located outside the U.S.

The original law required a court order for any surveillance conducted on U.S. soil, to protect Americans' privacy. The White House argued that the law was obstructing intelligence gathering because, as technology has changed, a growing amount of foreign communications passes through U.S.-based channels.

The most contentious issue in the new legislation is whether to shield telecommunications companies from civil lawsuits for allegedly giving the government access to people's private e-mails and phone calls without a FISA court order between 2001 and 2007.

Hell no. We're NOT going to do that.

For an official like that--and no wonder it was one of the vast number of assistants and deputies who threw this idea out there to test the reaction--to suggest that the American people have to suck it up and eat a little humility and part with their rights is ludicrous. But what do you expect these days? What do you expect when your outrage is outpaced by your inability to keep up with all the insane things we're supposed to be outraged about.

We never needed to amend FISA for the existing threats to our country. We amended FISA because the Republicans knew they were going to be caught spying on their political enemies, not terrorists. We need better Democrats to learn these issues and fight for the privacy rights of all Americans. You do not turn the eavesdropping intelligence apparatus of this country back onto its own citizens--at least, not without first getting a warrant to ensure that no one is abusing their power.

Republicans will, on January 20, 2009, at about 2PM Eastern, rediscover:

1. The Constitution
2. Privacy Rights
3. The Bill of Rights
4. Every other thing they've taken a dump on

And they will start jumping up and down and screaming about privacy as soon as a Democrat takes office. They will agitate as if the Republic itself is in danger of imminent collapse. They won't just do it for the gun nut lobby or for the paranoids and for the Black Helicopter crowd--which is about all that's left of their shrinking constituency.

No--they'll rediscover that they were supposed to be Americans during the period from January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2009. They're suddenly remember the rule of law and Habeus and the right to be free from unlawful search and seizure. They'll scream as if they've been stabbed with a million poison pens.

I say, let us have that debate now.

When I talk about better Democrats, what I mean is that I want to see Democrats step up and fight hard--don't give the telecoms immunity. They already have all the immunity they need. What we need is accountability. If they broke the law, let's sort out punishing and fining them and get BACK to the rule of law in this country.

I suspect we need to see a few hundred people marched off to jail. So be it.

Why Would Anyone Listen to John Bolton?

John Bolton on CNN:

BLITZER: But you know, in fairness to Mohamed ElBaradei, before the war in Iraq, when Condoleezza Rice and the president were speaking about mushroom clouds of Saddam Hussein and a revived nuclear weapons program that he may be undertaking, he was saying there was absolutely no such evidence. […]

BOLTON: Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

That's cute. We're supposed to believe that Bolton is some kind of authority? On the subject of proliferation?

Tell me, what are the man's accomplishments?

Tell me, what are the man's credentials?

Tell me, what has John Bolton ever gotten right?

The man couldn't even get confirmed for the job he was not even close to being the right person to fill. He was a self-important non-entity when serving at the United Nations. He was so bad, Condoleeza Rice made it known when taking over the State Department that Bolton would have to go. Oh, and he was part of the legal team that helped stop the Florida recount in 2000--anti-democratic blood runs in his veins, I get that. Beyond that, his thin resume and bogus credentials line up nice if you buy neo-con bullshit. Shame on CNN for having Bolton on its network. Can't they find someone who knows something about the subject? Is Bolton and his pornstar moustache the best they can do?

What a joke.

So the reich-wing wants a piece of the internet pie, eh?

This is our turf. Deal.

You know how for all those years the GOP had the GOTV handbook?

Well, when something came along to rival that advantage, it totally took them by surprise.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Welcome to the netroots, Republicans, and let us know what you think of 1997 once you catch your breath, won’t you?

When David All, a former Republican congressional aide, launched a blog recently that he hopes will spur his fellow Republicans to bridge the digital divide, he did his best to sound upbeat. "Today our Revolution begins," he wrote. "Tomorrow we fight."

But implicit in his cheerleading was the acknowledgment that there is a widening gap between Democrats and Republicans on the Internet, and that his party will have to scramble to catch up. "For the most part Republicans are stuck in Internet circa 2000," he said in an interview.

Michael Turk, who was in charge of Internet strategy for President Bush's 2004 campaign -- puts the problem his party faces more bluntly: "We're losing the Web right now."

But implicit in his cheerleading was the acknowledgment that there is a widening gap between Democrats and Republicans on the Internet, and that his party will have to scramble to catch up. "For the most part Republicans are stuck in Internet circa 2000," he said in an interview.

Sweet. Mother. of. God. (can a Jewess even say that and not get struck by lightning? Apparently so…)

THEY. JUST. DON’T. GET. IT.

The way they do things – top down – is simply antithetical to the way the blogosphere works – bottom up – if you can afford an internet connection, you can be a player…And that just blows their minds. It's a true meritocracy. It doesn't matter fuck-all whose dick your mommy sucked (so Jonah Goldberg loses his advantage) and it doesn't matter who your daddy was (so Bill Kristol is just a clown with a gap-toothed grin) - if you have firing neurons, you have equal footing.

And they can't fucking stand it.

The reich-wing is suckin’ hind tit on every front.

My tech-savvy ass – which saw a digital age of pseudo anarchy coming 30 years ago – is laughing heartily.

…it takes a certain level of technical skill and understanding to be an online strategist, and Republicans admit that "the pool of talent in the Democrats' side is much bigger than ours."

But an underlying cause may be the nature of the Republican Party and its traditional discipline -- the antithesis of the often chaotic, bottom-up, user-generated atmosphere of the Internet.

"We've always been a party of staying on message," All said. "It's the Rush Limbaugh model. What Tony Snow says in the White House filters down to talk radio, which makes its way to the blogs."

“What Tony Snow says in the White House filters down to talk radio, which makes its way to the blogs."

And therein lies the rub…

Have you read this site ? –(Or any other liberal blog, for that fact.)– Can you imagine this blogger (or any other liberal blogger) taking marching orders from any damned body? Seriously.

I beg of all you ‘wingers – cling to that model that has served you adequately – after all, it is the nature of the conservative, their essential Modus Operandi to look backward for answers to current problems, rather than forward.

And so long as they embrace the past and cling to models of irrelevancy…

We…Fucking…Win…

And we will continue to win – and as long as you embrace the past, you will continue to lose.

Deal.

And no – I am not at all inclined to be nice about it. In fact, if you are a drooling, mendacious reich-wing fucktard -

Fuck you. Very much.

Fuck you very much indeed.
