Talkin' 'bout a resignation

It is time for the petulant brat who has already stepped aside from seeking re-election as this states governor to consider stepping down now. He has clearly abused the power of his office and needs to go now, for the good of the state.

Yael Abouhalkah, writing for the editorial board of the Kansas City Star articulated it quite well:

It's time to start using the "R" word with Missouri's immature governor, Matt Blunt. Yes, he may need to resign for the good of the state.

Sound too harsh? Not for people who respect the governor's office. Not for people who realize Blunt's recent childish actions are tarnishing that office right now.

Here's the latest example of why Blunt made absolutely the right move in announcing in January that he would not run for re-election.

His office has demanded copies of every e-mail and document sent to or from Rep. Jeff Harris, a Columbia Democrat running for attorney general.

Why the request?

No real reason, the governor's office admitted.

They just did it to jerk the chain of Harris, who had the temerity to stand up and defend the public's right to know what's going on with their governor. [emphasis added]

So the governor's office thought it would make this absurd request. Now taxpayer money will be wasted as Harris complies with the request.

Of course, the one person who's in real trouble over e-mails is Blunt.

Earlier this week, independent investigators sued Blunt to obtain computer backup tapes that contain e-mail messages deleted from the governor’s office computers.

Put simply, Blunt or his team may have illegally tried to hide information from the public.

Now the governor wants to divert attention from his mounting problems. Problems that, if they continue, could cause him to have to resign in disgrace later this year.

I have wanted him gone since his inaugural address in 2005 - but I never quite articulated it as well as Abouhalkah just did, and I have certainly never managed to discuss the smarmy little fucker without using profanity (see?) so just let me say this about the above reproduced editorial:

He has already proven himself a stand-up guy, and god knows that here in Missouri we could use a few more of those in public service and a whole lot less Blunts.

Wittle Johnny B stopped sniveling long enough to throw a tantrum

So many feckless morons, so little duct-tape and so few gunny-sacks...

John Boehner and most of the Repugnant members of the House (above) showed their true loyal-Bushie stripes on Thursday when he stamped his wittle foot, said "follow me" and led a whole gaggle of petulant fucks who feebly attempt to pass themselves off as legislators out of the House today when the majority party decided to vote to hold Joshua Bolton and Harriet Meiers in contempt of congress for their obstinate refusal to appear before the chamber even though they have been subpoenaed. “We have space on the calendar today for a politically charged fishing expedition but not space for a bill that would protect the American people from terrorists who want to kill us,” whined Boehner.

Fortunately for them, they found an empty lectern! Just waiting! Right there on the steps of the Capitol! So they could hold an impromptu presser! And decry the fecklessness of the Democrats! Who stubbornly insist the Constitution matters! And that the Congress is co-equal!

I gotta ask...Exactly what kind of Congressman abrogates his responsibilities and undermines his branch of government at the behest of a lame-duck failed president? (That is a rhetorical question.)

The only down side I can see to this histrionic snit-fit on the part of the Repugnant-Ones, staged so spectacularly by their imminently mockable and totally pathetic delegation is that they have to be let back in to the chamber after the recess.

Democrats - grow the hell up!

There are a whole lot of Democrats that are pissing me off royally right now. Lurking in the comments section of the "big" blogs, I have seen some really stupid shit spouted by people I thought were intelligent and rational.

One self-important twit said a few days ago that if the general election was a choice between McCain and Clinton, she would by-god vote for McCain, so deep (and irrational) is her loating of Hillary. Another commenter I used to think had a bit going on between her ears came back with "Don't do that. Do what I plan to do. Stay home."

Both of you - present your asses for a sound kicking right god-damned now.

It isn't about you.

It isn't about me.

Hell, it isn't even about the candidates.

It is about the future of our country.

The next president is going to pick at least one Supreme Court Justice.

And as we have seen with the two feckless weenies that aWol appointed, the current court is very pro-business, anti-consumer...and anti-woman. Do you want to strengthen that stranglehold and turn the clock back even further?

No?

Then get over yourselves and put your petulant little fit of pique back in it's box and suck it up. Work for your candidate like hell in the primary, but once the nomination is secured, by God, get in line. Because if you don't, I sure as hell don't want to hear your ass whine.

In other words, he couldn't possibly care less

Well, isn't this precious? It seems that aWol can't be bothered to watch the Iowa returns. His need for sleep is paramount to the course being charted for the Republic tonight in Iowa.

Asked if the president planned to stay up to find out who wins the opening contests of the 2008 election season, White House press secretary Dana Perino said Thursday: "What time do all the results start coming in? Because he goes to bed early."

Later, Perino said Bush planned to watch a bit of the returns but would not stay tuned for the accompanying political punditry.

Republican caucus results could be in by mid-evening. Democratic results might be late.

"Look, obviously it's a very exciting time for America as they look to all the choices that they have for who is running for president," Perino said. "And the president is watching it as he has been over the past little while, as an observer, as somebody who is obviously very interested in politics. But he's not spending a lot of time on that."

So I guess that now that his Dionysian work is all but complete, he's sticking his fingers in his ears and singing "la la la la la! I can't hear you!"

What a petulant fucking dork.

This reign of error can not possibly end soon enough. If he goes sideways five minutes from now, it's still seven fucking years too late - but on the bright side of that equation, I bet THEN we could get some Impeach Cheney momentum going!
