Yesterday, Senator McCain abruptly canceled a fundraiser that had been scheduled for Monday at the home of Texas oilman Clayton Williams, who has raised $300,000 for the McCain campaign so far.
Why would a cash-strapped campaign run from a prolific fundraiser?
Because he is a sexist pig, and McCain has issues with women already.
In 1990, when Williams ran a losing race for governor against the late, great Ann Richards, he made an attempt at a "joke" about rape in earshot of a reporter that haunts him to this day. Comparing violent sexual assault with the weather, Williams said, thinking himself quite clever I'm sure, that “As long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it.”
A campaign spokesman said that given the offensive nature of the remark, the event was being canceled, but that no decision has been made about what to do with the money.
Well, we know what he should do with the money. If it were up to us, every penny raised by the odious, sexist creep would be donated to a rape crisis center.
