on this, the 35th anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling in favor of a woman's right to control her own body when the Roe v Wade decision was handed down.
I was ten years old. I have never lived with the specter of coathanger abortions. When I was in high school in the 70's, sex ed was comprehensive, and birth control was readily available. The rather flippant attitude of women my age was, for years "if you're against abortion...don't have one."
So this whole going backwards, paternalistic approach to women's rights thing is just mind-blowing to me. WTF, mate?
The presidential election is about more than the candidates. At the end of the day, it boils down to this: Who do you want to make the next Supreme Court appointment?
