The Raisin Challah just came out of the oven, the sweetbreads are ready, the honey and spool are on the table, the candles are ready to be lit at 20 minutes to sundown, and the Tzimmes is tzimmering.

High Holy Days Approach

I celebrate different holidays than most of you. I used to be more lax, but if there is a God, he has a wicked sense of humor. For his amusement, he sent me a Jew. My daughter is observant.

Oy, is she observant.

Which is cool with me - don't get me wrong. I am all for keeping the culture alive for one more generation. Besides - it is so very cute to hear my three-year-old granddaughter speak 'He-bwew.'

Anyway - I have to go cook. I will likely be making one or two posts per day until Thursday.

Maybe I'll post pictures of the food...
