
"The best guitar player since Hendrix"...that's what Paul Schaeffer said last night when they eulogized him on Letterman. He was an A-List studio musician and he performed on everyones recordings, but he was probably best-known as the barefoot guitar player in The World's Most Dangerous Band when Letterman started 26 years ago on NBC.
No cause of death was released, but it was announced a few months ago that he had throat cancer. Rock on, Hiram. We'll miss you.
