Call it a new twist on phishing.
Verizon and T-Mobile cell phone customers in the Kansas City area are being inundated with text messages telling us that our CENTRAL BANK OF KANSAS CITY web service has expired, and we should log in and update our information ASAP.
I called Central Bank, and learned that they are aware of the problem and have taken down the website that we are referred to in the messages, and the person I spoke with told me the messages originate in India.
Bummer that thy are zeroing in on one of the last citizen-centered, good corporate citizen , community banks left in this city.
