What if they threw a hate-fest and nobody came?

Inquiring minds that really want to know can ask neo-con screecher and all-around fuckwit David I-was-once-stupid-enough-to-be-a-Maoist Horowitz.

His latest brainstormfart was to mount Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

Uh-oh...Rant alert...I've felt this coming for a while...Just once, I want someone to open a fucking dictionary and look up the god-damned meaning of the word Fascism. I do not think it means what they think it means. I don't know who are the bigger idiots - the people who push the idiotic Islamo-Fascism meme, or the sheeple who don't know they are being lied to about mythical Islamo-Fascists, and manipulated by actual fascists.

Anyway - Horowitz - fuckwit deluxe - and his hate week. On his website, he bills it thusly:

During the week of October 22-26, 2007, the nation will be rocked by the biggest conservative campus protest ever – Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, a wake-up call for Americans on 200 university and college campuses.

Islamo Fascism Awareness Week Poster

The purpose of this protest is as simple as it is crucial: to confront the two Big Lies of the political left: that George Bush created the war on terror and that Global Warming is a greater danger to Americans than the terrorist threat. Nothing could be more politically incorrect than to point this out. But nothing could be more important for American students to hear. In the face of the greatest danger Americans have ever confronted, the academic left has mobilized to create sympathy for the enemy and to fight anyone who rallies Americans to defend themselves. According to the academic left, anyone who links Islamic radicalism to the war on terror is an "Islamophobe." According to the academic left, the Islamo-fascists hate us not because we are tolerant and free, but because we are "oppressors."

Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is a national effort to oppose these lies and to rally American students to defend their country.

The hate-mongering is followed by a list of 200 participating schools.

Problem is, Horowitz is lying about the colleges involved.

Via Think Progress:
Kareem Shora, the Executive Director of the American-Arab Anti Discrimination Committee, said that Horowitz was dramatically overstating the number of participating schools:

We contacted those institutions, alerting them to the fact that their name was being used, and wondering what exactly was taking place. … It’s important to note though, after we contacted those institutions, most of those institutions indicated that no such events is taking place on those campus. And many contacted the sponsors and told them, “do not use my institution’s name in your campaign,” including some very renowned universities such as Yale and Princeton.

Shora also said that the president of Liberty University, the evangelical school founded by Jerry Falwell, also had their name removed from Horowitz’s list.
Horowitz is a wealth of advise. On his website, you can get tips in how to inflame and outrage others, how to word a petition to provoke confrontation, and "force others to declare their positions." (Ironic this halfwit is warning about the fascistic tendencies of an "other" innit?)

One thing you won't find there, however, is information on joining the military.

Probably because this is his audience...

Of course, Horowitz is not really fooling anyone. His real enemy is not Islam, or even Fascism. Hell, he embraces fascism with fervor. His real enemy is the political left. But his histrionics and hissy-fits are fun to watch for a minute or two from time to time. So watch:

Josh Marshal has a great video on the hysterical history of Horowitz histrionic hate-mongering:
