Today is World Press Freedom Day

While I blog from the comfort and safety of my home, there are reporters out there, putting their lives and safety on the line in war zones every single day, struggling to tell the truth in the face of tyranny. Thirteen reporters are currently being held hostage in Iraq and Gaza. (As World Press Freedom Day coincides with the National Day of Prayer in the United States, perhaps some of those prayers will be offered for captive reporters.)

Today, we honor the free press and the fourth estate – the only non-governmental profession afforded protection under the Constitution of the United States
