Republican Senators Call for Gonzalez Resignation

On Wednesday, Republican Senator John Sununu of New Hampshire called for the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez.

On Thursday, Republican Gordon Smith of Oregon joined his colleague in calling for the resignation of Gonzalez over the multiple Justice Department scandals that are unfolding.

Bets on when he goes?

I'm gonna stick my neck out & predict that un-speedy Gonzalez will resign on Tuesday, March 20th, at 10am DC time. I'm guessing the WH, trying to be clever, will attempt to time AG's resignation so it is not the BIG Sunday TV story. Of course it will be anyway. They also don't want the story to lead the week's news, so they'll leave the inevitable till Tuesday. AG will take "full responsibility" for both the "proposing" & the "regrettable mishandling" of the USA's resignations, letting the hapless Harriet M somewhat off the hook. No body will believe it as more e-mails are released, exposing Rove, Bush, Cheney involvement. The drumbeat for impeachment grows louder....
